Setting the tone with a textured riser and immersive synth notes with cerebral frequencies, Marlon Bianco opens Planet Coronet with intrigue and dimensionality. The composition expands into a dynamic and psychedelic, chillwave-jazz-hybrid energy laced with poetic nuance and spoken-word add libs interspersed.
Mid-way through the piece, we really start to experience the more out-of-this-world nature, akin to a DMT trip, and needless to say, we are mesmerized.
The composition also includes an incredible saxophone performance by Jonny Chung, which adds an astral energy to the overall architecture of the piece, which results in a breathtaking and cohesive tapestry of sound.
Although genre-expansive in nature, Marlon Bianco, who is also known as artist Luca Bianco confesses, “It’s an instrumental space rock piece. It describes the last memories of I an astronaut lost in space in his ship approaching a black hole.”
The galactic nature of the work is evident, and we learn that Marlon Bianco is inspired by Thelonious Monk, Homeshake, J-dilla, Memo boy, Piero Umiliani, John Coltrane, and Piero Piccioni, although there is no doubt that the star is creating a universe of his own.
We have added Planet Coronet to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of Marlon Bianco, including his album, Life in Low-Fi.
