We recently featured Bromsen as they took us on an introspective and immersive trip with The Photograph, so when we heard that they had also released, We!, we couldn’t wait to listen and feed back!
Setting the tone with a dimensional synthscape, Bromsen open We! with atmospheric vocals and evocative prose laced with metaphors. We are immediately in awe of the high synth detailing which is rather mesmerizing.
The chorus is textured as Bromsen showcase a passionate delivery, bringing to life their concept for the song which is designed to “celebrate the unshakable power of friendship.”
Bromsen is comprised of artists Richard and Karlo Bromsen, who have known each other for over twenty years. They tell us that they are convinced that their deep friendship has helped them through many low blows in life.
Karlo comments, “Such a deep and long-standing friendship can carry you through a period of weakness and often you emerge even stronger afterwards feeling free like a bird again who wants to fly higher and higher as described in the song…”
We love the optimistic message which is relatable (at least to those who have long-standing friendships!), and the soundscape that the duo create is simply out of this world.
The middle eight is a meditative, subdued respite before the final reprise, as Bromsen share the words, “’til the end, we can say, yes we live, and we can take, take a deep dive in the lake…”, followed by a cerebral synth, which sends us astral once again.
We appreciate the overarching message and mood that Bromsen deliver, and have added We! to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream The Photograph, and Merryman.
