Establishing the mood with nature sounds and an immersive frequency, Mystik Fool opens Gone with the Wind with elegant rising guitar, textured drums, intrigue and dimensionality.
The opus expands into a luscious, expansive, trip hop vibe with evocative harmonies and the escapist lyrics, “Waiting for you to show me, show me the way to the promised land, and can you take me there?”
With reference to meaning of Gone with the Wind, the rising artist confesses, “The sonic adventure of this song is inspired by the great state of Alaska. I had spent some time up there at a specific place of impressive impact. This song is about that place and what I experienced.”
Speaking on the design of the composition, Mystik Fool, also known as artist Galen Deery, says, “This song is genre bending but centred on slow paced dynamic guidance. Hooks leading to epic guitar solos create a whole world in your head when you close your eyes.”
We love the cinematic and spiritual nature of the song, and the anthemic and immersive build. We can only imagine how epic the song would be to experience live, especially as Mystik Fool performs using looping technology.
The star has toured all over the US, opening for artists including Trevor Hall, Matisyahu, The Happy Fits, Brett Dennan, and Dirtwire. Galen is a multi-instrumentalist, and plays drums, ukulele, piano, didgeridoo, guitar, tanpura, harmonium, and has dynamic vocal ability.
We love what Mystik Fool is creating, and the consciousness associated with his artistry. Gone with the Wind has been added to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream his wider discography and anticipate future releases and an upcoming new album from Mystik Fool!
