Setting the tone with soaring vocal and an immersive and high octane soundscape, Candid opens Tonight with metaphorical lyricism and emotional depth from vocalist Rob Latimer. The opus expands into a luscious, alternative rock vibe which has us mesmerized with the cohesive tapestry of sound and poetic prowess of the composition.
We appreciate the dimensionality of the track, which has an anthemic nature as the band from Coventry share their most authentic selves and take us on a trip. The message of Tonight “depicts the typical night out, traversing the listener through that party-mode from a singular perspective.”
We learn that the release follows close to a million Spotify streams, syncs on NFL and Made in Chelsea, supports slots for The Snuts, The Fratellis and Tom Clarke, and live stage performances at Isle of Wight Festival and BBC Radio 1s Big Weekend!
The band has just signed to Marquee Records, and in addition to frontman Rob Latimer, the collective features Dan Latimer on lead guitar, Sam Baines on bass, Alex Bonsor on drums, and Max Fisher on keys. We love their vibrant nature and it is no surprise that Candid have received sonic comparison to bands such as Stereophonics, The Academic and The Amazons, but it is clear that they are creating a sound of their very own.
We have added Tonight to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of Candid, including Concrete Jungle, and Wasted Time.
