Setting the tone with a glistening, astral, yet delicate synthcape with warm melodies and nuanced electronica, Tasty opens Another Day Alive with lyrical depth, atmosphere and poetic nuance.
The introspective opus features ethereal vocals, enchanting melodies and authentic, visionary energy from the rising artist. We are captivated by the celestial harmonies and the intricacy of the cohesive tapestry of sound that the artist shares. The saxophone performance and outro are simply out of this world; the instrument adds dimensionality and emotive connection to the already expansive piece. Another Day Alive has us feeling grateful to experience music, as if almost for the first time.
Speaking on the message of the track, Tasty tells us, “I wrote this song the day I got fired from my job and I was finally at peace with myself. That’s where the ambience of the soundscape comes in and the optimistic lyrics ensure that everything happens for a reason and that there is no worries. I am blessed beyond measures to have Another Day Alive.”
He adds with conscious wisdom, “This song is about looking at the glass half full. In all positions, in all circumstances, everything happens for a reason that will lead us to stay on the path in which we are supposed to be on. There will always be obstacles in the way, but those obstacles themselves are something to be appreciated because that in itself means that we are blessed with Another Day Alive.”
We learn that Tasty is a 23 year old “prodigy of an artist” based out of New Orleans, Louisiana. Another Day Alive is produced, written, mixed and mastered by the talented star himself.
Tasty confesses that he is “excited to get the new sound heard by masses!”, and cites a range of artists as inspiration including Mac Miller, Lauryn Hill, Mumford and Sons, Frank Ocean, and The Beatles, although there is no doubt that Tasty is creating a universe of his own.
We have added Therapy to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of Tasty, including his the seven track EP, Therapy, which has already amassed over a million streams!
