Setting the tone with a cerebral wail and frequency fused with sirens, XRick SaenzX opens Angel In The House with a sense of dimensionality and intrigue. The artist shares evocative prose laced with poetic prowess and accompanied by a pulsating bassline. His references are personal and metaphorical, referencing some of his influences including Goku 2.0 and Mother Theresa.
Speaking on his intention with regards to the self-referential opus, XRick SaenzX confesses, “I made this song is to showcase my ability to write intricate bars while maintaining an entertaining flow.”
With reference to his wider artistry, the rising star from Los Angeles tells us, “Nowadays everyone is trying to sound the same. Whether it’s the same flow from a certain rapper or the same cadence. I am trying to change the paradigm.”
We appreciate the intention that XRick SaenzX conveys and his powerful prose and unique concepts, including the phrase “genital collision” that we cannot get out of our heads!
Going into depth on the meaning of Angel In The House, the artist says, “The song is about women having to be confined to this chauvinist ideal of women having to be meek, charming, beautiful, and a devoted wife in our society. The traits put women on comparison to that of an Angel, i.e. something unrealistic and something that should not be expected. I believe women are fed up with this notion that they have to be held up to this standard.”
He adds, “Hence why I say in the song ‘Angel In The House shit is dead’, or why I show a dying/dead angel on the single cover. The title of the song is also inspired by a Victorian poet Coventry Patimore, whom I acquired the idea of what an Angel In The House is.”
We are in awe of the profound nature of XRick SaenzX‘s high concept artistry, and have added Angel In The House to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream XRick SaenzX‘s wider discography including Trust No Thotty and No More Pain.
