DATCHA release evocative and dimensional new single, BONESAW

Setting the tone with dynamic, descending synth notes, DATCHA open BONESAW with intrigue and dimensionality, fused with atmospheric vocals and the lyrics, “Don’t let me run from this love…”, as they confesses that they will not be giving up.

We immediately appreciate the charisma that DATCHA share with their prose, and the authenticity in they convey with their words and performance. The soundscape is highly unique, and we are mesmerised by the tangible depth of the synth-work and bassline.

The opus expands into an emotive and evocative number with unique industrial elements and textured drums, as DATCHA expand their “bass-driven adulation of staying strong after moving on”.

We learn that DATCHA is a Boston bedroom-pop project comprised of singer, songwriter, and producer Josh Friedman along with a revolving door of musical collaborators. BONESAW cements the outfit’s signature sound, and was mixed and mastered in collaboration with Bradford Krieger and Big Nice Studio.

We are hypnotized the vibes that DATCHA deliver, as well as their luscious harmonies and masterfully designed vocal timbre. The hooks are memorable and allow us to connect with the song, at the same time as delivering a sense of catharsis for the listener. There are elements that reminds of us Dev Hynes, although there is no doubt that DATCHA are creating a universe of their own.

We have added BONESAW to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream DATCHA‘s wider discography including glory and their self-titled album!
