We recently featured Henry Aberson when he teamed up with Nariah Taylor on the intricate and immersive break up song, Hang It Up, so when we heard that he had just released, Much to Do, we couldn’t wait to listen and feed back!
Setting the tone with a dimensional neo-soul meets timeless R&B energy, Henry Aberson opens Much to Do with precision and a distinctive soundscape, as singer Dyna Erie shares atmospheric vocals and evocative prose laced with metaphors.
She sings, “The light is coming through my bedroom window, hitting the sheets, I rise to a day I hope is better than yesterday, chasing these dreams, just to be free…” as she invites us to chase freedom and expansion.
We love the rippling keys from Brian Hargrove as the piece expands, and we fall deeper in love with the authentic emotion that Dyna Erie shares with her lyricism. We can only imagine how enchanting this would be to experience live.
Henry cites Erykah Badu, The RH Factor and Robert Glaspar as some of his sonic influences for the composition, but there is no doubt that the masterful sound that he creates is unique unto himself, naturally, with the support of his collaborators.
Speaking on his creations from a wider perspective, Henry confesses, “Our songs are about many things, love, break ups, older men, younger women, and more…”
We appreciate the refined adventure that we are taken on with the relatable opus, and have added Much to Do to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of Henry Aberson.
