Drawing us in with a dimensional, future-jazz hybrid soundscape, SV opens Chill N’ Vibe with luscious instrumentals and an immersive energy, as we experience an astral saxophone from Kevon Scott fused with textured beats and intricate production nuance.
The opus expands with an R&B vocal from Alyssa Jane as she shares evocative prose and poetic prowess, as well as dulcet tones that fans of Pink Pantheress would be able to connect with.
We are in awe of Alyssa Jane‘s range and vocal timbre, which is intentionally soothing yet thought provoking as she shares her soul and spirit with us. We connect with the depth that the creators share, cohesively fused together into an exquisite tapestry of sound, designed by SV.
Chill N’ Vibe is taken from SV‘s, My Corrhiza album, where the St. Louis-based producer delivers a refined showcase of talent from his Jim’s Pool Room label.
SV tells us, “Mycorrhiza are fungi that have a symbiotic relationship with the roots of plants. They are the intertwining veins that help plants and trees communicate with each other. As humans, we are the same, connected as one, even if we don’t understand fully how. With communication, humans can achieve so much. Hence the name of this album, My Corrhiza. As a producer, you can only take your music so far without the energy, talent, skills, and determination of other like minded souls.”
We deeply appreciate the wisdom and talent that SV conveys with his artistry, and have added Chill N’ Vibe to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we stream his 2021 record The Ice Cap, and anticipate future releases from the star.
