Drawing us in with the sound of a can opening and a dynamic guitar melody, MoAnanda open Cheers! with intrigue, dimensionality and a luscious vocal with the empowering and affirming prose, “There’s never a bad time to have a good time, oh, it’s always the right time, to live your best life…”
The opus expands into a contemporary pop energy, whilst MoAnanda confess that Cheers! is designed as a “fun track to ring in the new year and celebrate life and good times.”
We immediately appreciate the intention of the song, and how the duo bring to life their skillset cohesively with dynamic instrumentation including an astral flute, stacked vocals, creative add libs, poetic nuance and depth.
Cheers! is co-written with songwriter Ceri Earle, and the creators tell us, “this song is filled with sounds of actual glasses clinking, and ice cubes hitting the glass, to put everyone in a party mood.” We love the refined depth of the sound design, which showcases the masterful production skills from the artists.
We also learn that Cheers! will be the first in a series of monthly releases, leading to the pair’s debut album. It is no surprise that the creative duo have already created music for commercials including Renault, Domino’s, Lucifer, Riverdale, Sims, and Disney, they confess, “we’re excited to return our focus on MoAnanda.”
With reference to their creative moniker, MoAnanda is a combination of their names Moana, and Ananda. Moana Avvenenti is a singer and songwriter born and raised on a sailboat in Saint Martin, Caribbean and Berklee summa cum laude alumna. Her credits include: Lucifer (Netflix,) Riverdale (The CW,) The Sims (EA Games,) Domino’s, Renault, Disney Parks…
Ananda Dhar James, who is a producer, mixing-engineer, multi-instrumentalist from India. A graduate of Musicians Institute Hollywood, he has performed at noteworthy events including the Amazon Fashion Week and a nationwide campaign for Sprite in India.
We have added Cheers! to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream MoAnanda‘s wider discography including Lean on Me and badtothebone and anticipate future releases from the stars!
