Josh Long shines a light on unreciprocated connections with nostalgic new single, Tidal Wave

Drawing us in with a charismatic vocal and intricate guitar riffs, Josh Long opens Tidal Wave with poetic prowess and situational prose, as he sings, “The sun in my eyes, this California heat’s playing tricks on me, I can’t even see her stay in one place for far too long, she’s already gone…”

The opus expands into a luscious indie-rock meets surf-pop soundscape, and we are mesmerised. Josh Long has a unique way of bringing to life a scenario with his narrative-based lyricism, and we cannot get enough the sun-drenched energy of the song as he takes us on a journey through his emotions.

Speaking on the message of the release, Josh confesses, “Tidal Wave is about unreciprocated connections and the confusion that comes with them.” The composition holds a sense of nostalgic charm, and Josh describes it as “the perfect encapsulation of me as a songwriter.” We are in love with the harmonies and background vocals that add dimensionality to the track!

Born in San Diego and based in San Francisco, Josh Long is a self taught producer, guitarist, and singer-songwriter with over ten years of experience. His California roots run deep throughout his music, and he developed a deep passion for Classic Rock, Disco, and Pop music at an early age.

We learn that some of his influences include the Eagles, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bee Gees, Tom Petty, and Lenny Kravitz, but it is evident that Josh Long is creating a universe of his own.

We have added Tidal Wave to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Josh Long‘s first two singles, Last June and Love in You, and anticipate future releases from the star.
