2022 was an incredibly creative year for superstar Robbie Rapids, and we loved following his journey, so when we learnt that he was ending the year with the brand new single, Love of Your Life, we couldn’t wait to experience it!
Drawing us in with a vibrant electric guitar performance, and a danceable beat, in line with the concept of the song and the artwork, Robbie Rapids opens Love of Your Life with the situational lyrics, “And I was searching trying to find her there, would she come back, just like she said? And I can’t wait to see her dance again, cos I can’t get her out of my mind…”
We are immediately hooked by the poetic and authentic nature of the prose that Robbie Rapids shares, and the narrative-based, introspective journey that he takes us on with Love of Your Life.
Speaking on the release, the Atlanta-based artist tells us, “This is my first pop rock song. It is about returning to a dance club for a second date with a women believed to be the Love of Your Life.”
We love the depth and charisma that Robbie Rapids delivers with the song, and the clarity of the mix as he shares the ode to his muse! The middle eight is a transcendental moment in time which has mesmerized. We learn that the music and melody for Love of Your Life was written by David Levene for a female pop artist who wanted a similar sound to Madonna.
Robbie Rapids was asked to write the lyrics but then the pandemic hit and remote work wasn’t an option. David and Robbie really wanted the song to come life and revised the song a few times to where it is now to suit Robbie’s voice and musical rock style, and we are glad that it ended up this way!
