Setting the tone with a distinctive electric guitar riff, Snakedoctors open the New Version of Destroyed with a bold energy, as we are once again transported into their sonic hyperreality.
With an additional guitar solo, the track dimensionalizes, taking us to a higher realm before gritty atmospheric vocals envelope us, and we are once again reminded of why we love Snakedoctors‘ unique soundscape.
The emotive superstars share passionate prose about “how sometimes things come real bad in life.” The introspective opus has a sense of remarkable depth as the band share their experience and wisdom with us.
We learn that Destroyed is the first single from a new album coming out in the first half of 2023, and we can’t think of a more tantalizing way to evoke a new era!
Destroyed comes with a cinematic visual, filmed in Serbia, featuring a mystery muse bringing out the more profound perspective of the song’s meaning.
The single features guest drummer Nik Hughes from Bush, which allows us to connect with a sense of familiarity with the composition. The band tells us that mixing was done by Marshall Gallagher – producer and a leader of Teenage Wrist, and thatmastering was done at Howie Weinberg Mastering. The band assertively tell us, “Whichever music style and band you’ve liked over last 30-40 years anything you pick you would probably pick something Howie Weinberg was involved in making.”
We always connect with the depth and attention to detail that Snakedoctors‘ share with their releases, and Destroyed is no exception. We have added the tune to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream the band’s wider discography!
