Setting the tone with a pulsating dance beat, intricate percussion details and a refined, cerebral synth, Richard Green opens Astronaut with dimensionality and intrigue.
The opus expands with a dynamic synth-string melody, as we are taken on a celestial journey with the visionary artist. As the defining protagonist, the synth-string captivates us as Richard Green takes us on an evocative trip.
Atmospheric frequencies envelop us further as the melody takes a downward twist, pulling back for a moment whilst Astronaut takes on a more meditative energy. The melodic reprise pulls us in once more, mesmerizing us as the composition builds with emotion before once again taking us on a grounding descent before closure.
When discussing the inspiration of Astronaut, Richard tells us, “The idea of the song came watching a series and the picture in my head was a guy who wants exceed his limits, and I thought the metaphor of an Astronaut who reaches the space and more was the perfect one for this track.”
Speaking on his creative process, the neo-classical composer confesses, “What I really like about this tune is the originality of the arrangements, technically speaking, I used some specific music scale that are not standard, indeed this track has very interesting melodies and arrangements.”
We appreciate the originality that Richard Green shares with his artistry, generating a cinematic and magnetic feel with crisp and immersive instrumentation. The visionary cites Daft Punk, and The Chemical Brothers as influences for the creation of Astronaut, although it is clear that Richard Green is creating a universe of his own.
We have added Astronaut to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Richard Green‘s wider discography, including Made to Be Broken, and anticipate future releases from the star.
