FEAR OF MARKO shares track-by-track break down for new EP, Violent Ends

On November 30, rising British artist FEAR OF MARKO released his debut EP, Violent Ends. The record features new track, Funeral and Skeleton featuring Jonjo Yano, as well as the three epic singles that the star has released over the last few months including Sting!, Dizzy, and Blood for Tears.

In a post earlier today, FEAR OF MARKO shared a break down of each track on the record with reference to the deeper meaning and details. You can also read them below!

We always appreciate the depth and vulnerability that FEAR OF MARKO delivers with his work, and have added Funeral to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream the EP in full!

Funeral is a song about becoming cold to the world and chasing fame and power. Replacing love with the idea of success. I feel like our society often values money and success over love and this song is about giving into that pressure and selling your soul to capitalism.

Skeleton is about energy vampires and feeling drained by the people around you, you feel like you’re giving them your all but getting nothing back.

Sting! is a song about being defiant in the face of adversity. It’s basically about life throwing loads of stuff at you and just kind of being like “I don’t really care, I’m still gonna do me”, which is how I’ve felt for a lot of my life. Growing up working class, loosing a parent at a young age and having so many things thrown at me I’ve always bounced back. That’s what this song is about.

Dizzy is a song about dissociation, feeling lost and confused about where you’re going in life. It’s a fun and energetic track which sits opposite to the subject matter but I feel like it makes sense as usually when I’m feeling this way it just feels like life is zooming past me, kinda how the track sounds.

Blood for Tears is about giving your all and feeling like you’re gonna fail. It’s a song about being an artist and putting your soul into your artwork but feeling like it’s leaving you bleeding out. Sometimes being an artist you can feel like you’re putting your whole life force (blood and sweat) into your work just to get tears in return.
