Setting the tone with a luscious synthscape and textured vocals singing the title of the track, The Official 4pm open Some Of The Time with intrigue and dimensionality.
The opus expands with a clean pop-meets-R&B hybrid energy and the situational lyrics, “Sometimes we go to bed at night, without saying I love you…” as the trio from Baltimore take us on a journey though their spirit, minds and reality.
Some Of The Time marks the debut release of The Official 4pm as a renewed collective, although the band members have known each other and work together all over the world since 1991. We learn that it is “a song about the ups and downs of normal relationships”, which holds a sense of nostalgia thematically and sonically, but is designed with a refined mix created using present day technology.
The trio confess that “the overarching message is to stick it out and stay together no matter what.” Some Of The Time also comes with a cinematic music video featuring an epic performance from Roberto, Larry and Ray, and stylized segments bringing to life the narrative of the song.
The Official 4pm tell us that the song is for “anyone who is or every has been in a serious relationship”, and we commend the relatability of the song, fused with a cohesive tapestry of sound which really allows the vocal range of the artists to shine through. We have added Some Of The Time to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we anticipate further releases from The Official 4pm!
