Setting the tone with a vibrant and high octane alternative indie soundscape, Kestrel Palace opens Swan Song with intricacy, dimensionality and thought-provoking, yet assertive lyricism.
The opus expands to take us on a journey through the psyche of the rising rock star from Manchester, who is also known as Bruno Rogelj. We appreciate his poetic prowess and charismatic delivery as he cohesively fuses elements of punk, rock and pop in his artistry.
With reference to the narrative of Swan Song, Kestrel Palace tells us that the heavy track came to him “off the cuff”, following a session with Tayte of Mad Fox. He elaborates by confessing, “‘I wrote the song in about ten minutes, I went to a party the week before, the type were there’s nothing to do except get spangled and meet new people. There was this lad there, the type of lad everyone has met at one point – ego could hardly fit through the front door wearing white skinny jeans. I guess he is what the song is about, some of the stuff that came out his mouth, his attitude and even his style.”
There is no doubt that fans of Arctic Monkeys would be able to connect with Kestrel Palace‘s sound, but it is evident that he is creating a universe of his own. We learn that Bruno is inspired by “music of all ages”, and also cites bands including Oasis, The Stone Roses, The Eagles and Nirvana as influences.
Appropriately so for a rising artist in 2022, Kestrel Palace is generating viral TikTok content with over a million views to his name and close to half a million likes. We enjoy watching Bruno’s TikToks as they allow an insight into his raw talent and comedic nature.
We have added Swan Song to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Kestrel Palace‘s wider discography including Get Up and Singing for the Living.
He is making a name for himself on TikTok making content about not only his music but a mockery on the music fandoms with nearly half a million likes on the platform and 1.1 million views on one video alone.
He began releasing music in 2021 with his debut single ‘Get up’ which made him a household name across the North-West of England. He has headlined shows at some of the most iconic venues in Manchester such as Night & Day Cafe and Off the Square.
Being born in the earlier naughties, he is a young prosperous artist who is self sufficient in writing lyrics and music and has a lot more to come in the future
