We recently featured Peppermint Moon for the immersive and thought-provoking single, Foxy Friends, so when we heard that the talented artist had just released the remastered version of He She They, we couldn’t wait to experience it!
Drawing us in with a reverberating organ-synth, percussive details and exquisite strummed guitar, Peppermint Moon opens He She They with an enigmatic vocal as he sings the situational lyrics, “The sun was setting, the sky was the colour of Thai ice tea, and they were lamenting love
and its delinquency…”
We can always count on Peppermint Moon for a refined soundscape, and we appreciate his poetic prose and visual brand of story telling, which is always delivered in a compelling and vibrant manner.
He She They showcases a dream pop meets acoustic rock energy, and has us mesmerized as Peppermint Moon, also known as artist Colin Schlitt, sings the high concept hook, “He don’t, she don’t, they don’t understand…”
When discussing the meaning of the opus, Peppermint Moon confesses, “He She They is about finding yourself and love (or sometimes lack thereof).”
Colin writes, performs, and produces everything himself, and also plays bass and sings some of his songs in the dark alt-pop band El Radio Fantastique. He lives in the Bay Area in northern California and works as a teacher when he is not playing music.
We deeply appreciate the power-pop adjacent harmonies, the guitar solo, and overall message that Peppermint Moon conveys, and have added He She They to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream his wider discography including Foxy Friends, This Way Monsters Be, and What You Wanted.
