We recently featured Lord Sonny the Unifier as he teased his upcoming album with evocative lead single, Howl, so when we heard that he had just released the brand new, Don’t Be An Asshole, we couldn’t wait to experience it.
Drawing us in with a psychedelic, post-punk meets avant-garde energy, Lord Sonny The Unifier opens Don’t Be An Asshole with atmospheric vocals, fierce electric guitar, high synths and a subversive yet charismatic vibe.
The composition expands with the poetic prowess and a deterministic approach that we have come to love and expect from Lord Sonny The Unifier as he shares his evocative prose and perspective.
Speaking on the album as a whole , the artist, also known as Greg Jiritano confesses, “This was an album I imagined Bowie would have made right after Scary Monsters if he didn’t go the Nile Rogers route and grabbed Iggy Pop instead, cranked the guitars and picked out of his closet some of his old synthesizers.”
We deeply vibe with the output of Lord Sonny The Unifier, and his guitar solos are simply out of this world, delivering a cohesive cerebral tapestry that we are in awe of. Don’t Be An Asshole has been added to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream his existing discography and anticipate the upcoming album!
