It has been an incredible year creatively for Clare Easdown with the releases of the powerful and atmospheric, Your Eyes Are Ice, and the vulnerable and immersive, I’ll Wait, so when we heard that she had just released the brand new, Injected, we couldn’t wait to experience it!
Drawing us in with an ethereal guitar and textured percussion, Clare Easdown opens Injected with emotive lyricism as she sings, “I lay here, infected, injected, rejected…”
The opus expands into the soundscape that we have come to love from the rising artist, as she bares her soul with depth and poetic prowess. We appreciate atmospheric vocals and the charisma that Clare delivers her prose with.
Speaking on the release, the Australian star tells us, “Injected is for those who have felt helpless, powerless and yearning for a release.” Clare Easdown continues, “It is a commentary on those, living or who have experienced the mental health system, receiving myriads of treatments that need to be revamped and modernised. It is a cry out for help, yet clearly expresses the frustration of being restrained and brutally, “injected”.”
The emotion that Clare Easdown shares with her composition is tangible, and we always appreciate the profound nature of her artistry. Infected comes with a cinematic film-noir visual showcasing the intricate guitar performance from Simon Pipe, cohesively fused with a hypnotizing performance from our protagonist.
With regards to the message of the song, Clare Easdown leaves is open to interpretation by saying, “Personal experiences lead up to the recording, however we want to remain fairly private about those and let the audience ride the subjective wave of what they think the song is about.”
We have added Infected to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Clare Easdown‘s wider discography including Your Eyes Are Ice, and I’ll Wait.
