Love energy is what we often discuss at KIMU in our think-pieces, but when it comes to love in relationships, romantic or interpersonal, it sometimes helps to go a bit deeper.
Costa Coffee, who are always looking to expand their consciousness and offer more kindness in their menu with a growing number of plant-based milks and vegan snacks, have surveyed British couples in long term relationships, to reveal the secrets to staying in love in the modern age.
A romantic 53 percent claim that saying “I love you” daily was key to a happy partnership, while sending each other funny memes (20 percent), giving each other back rubs (23 percent), and working out together (13 percent) were also on the list.
However, the research found, the number one secret to a long and successful relationship is making sure you regularly check in and ask your partner if they are OK (58 percent).
Despite the challenges of the modern dating scene, more than three quarters (79 percent) of couples think that love and romance still exist in the modern world, you just have to find it.
A quarter (25 percent) of those surveyed said real love was when you would never watch an episode of your favourite series without each other.
Offering an earphone, so you can both listen to music (13 percent), going for coffee together (27 percent), liking each other’s posts on social media (11 percent), making each other playlists (8 percent), and spending time photographing each other for social media (6 percent) are key ways of showing you care.
As are surprise gifts, telling your partner they look nice, making time for intimacy and being able to sit in silence without awkwardness.
One in twenty (5 percent) believe that having matching tattoos is a sign of true love.
The study found that eight in ten Brits (80 percent) in happy relationships believe that love is the most important thing in the world.
And according to the study, the optimum number of times to tell your other half you love them every day is four.
