We recently featured Mote for his immersive and dimensional single, Industrial Love, so when we heard that the rising star had just released the brand new, Hello Divine, we couldn’t wait to experience it!
Drawing us in with a panning synth, textured percussion and a dynamic bassline, Mote opens Hello Divine with atmospheric vocals and metaphorical lyrics as he sings, “I’ve been lonely, living for the prize, everyone seems to cut a piece of the pie, I’ve been so low, I’ve been full of pride, you cut me up, I’m someone who lies…”
Hello Divine expands into a retro-futurist energy with elements of post punk, dark wave and alternative pop. Speaking on the release, Mote confesses that the opus features “deep lyrics about desperation.” The Berlin-based artist adds, “It is the best song I have ever released and I’m 110% proud of it.”
We appreciate his confidence and the poetic depth that Mote shares with his composition as he sings, “I want you to stay, you’re bringing me back to life…”, and the hook, “Hello Divine, I just want to make you mine…”
We love the dimensionality of the soundscape, something that we have come to expect from Mote, and on this occasion, with the connected nature of the lyricism, we appreciate the expansive energy on an ever more profound level.
The middle eight of the composition takes on a more cerebral and meditative energy with bright percussive detailing glitches before the track starts to rebuild for the final reprise.
We love the vibe and message that Mote shares with Hello Divine and have added the song to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream his wider discography including End This Ride and Industrial Love.
