The Spiritual Leaders release dynamic and thought-provoking new single, Shadows and Tall Trees

Setting the tone with immersive keys, performed with a singular note yet generating a sense of vibrancy, The Spiritual Leaders open Shadows and Tall Trees with atmospheric vocals as they sing the lyrics, “Sing me a sweet lullaby, a tale of innocence lost… Where once we lived in unison, we shatter in a million pieces…”

The opus expands with a dimensional bass guitar and drums to deliver a luscious alternative rock meets indie-electronica hybrid soundscape, which we can imagine that fans of The Killers and The Coral would be able to deeply connect with.

We appreciate the depth and poetic prowess that The Spiritual Leaders share with Shadows and Tall Trees as they take us on a metaphorical and introspective journey. The band confesses that the song is “lyrically a rumination on divisions in society through the lens of the classic novel Lord of the Flies.

Originally hailing from Cavan, Ireland, we learn that Shadows and Tall Trees is the first single from The Spiritual Leaders upcoming album, This Fictional Place. The band have spent the last 12 months recording the album at JT Soar Studios in Nottingham, UK, with Robin Newman and Rich Collins engineering and producing.

We love the universe that The Spiritual Leaders are creating with their authentic and thought-provoking artistry, and have added Shadows and Tall Trees to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream their wider discography, including their 2020 release, Albania Away.
