Setting the tone with a meditative synth and tribal drums, Lucid Evolution open Moments with atmospheric vocals and conscious lyricism as they touch upon quantum themes.
The opus expands with an ethereal energy and thought-provoking sentiments as the band delivers a psychedelic guitar soundscape with out-of-this-world solos. We appreciate the expansive experience and the overall transcendental sonic dimensionality that the foursome share after “crashing on Earth after travelling light years through outer space via the 5th dimension”.
The cosmic band, based out of Richmond, Virginia is female-fronted, and we are grateful for the evocative and unique cosmic perspective that they share with their art.
Founded in the fall of 2021, we learn that Lucid Evolution is still in the early stages of their musical journey. Yet, in a short space of time, they have built a strong following behind their unique, genre-bending sound, the product of the otherworldly synergy between frontwoman Lynne Holloman‘s strong yet angelic vocals, lyrics, and keyboard skills, guitarist Shaun Neal‘s psychedelic blues sensibilities, bassist Sammy Stiles funk rock beats, and Brian Holloman‘s creative soul percussion and backup vocals.
The outfit cite Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, Fleetwood Mac, and Portishead, as some of their influences, which we can feel come through in the composition, although there no doubt that Lucid Evolution are creating a universe of their own.
We have added the hypnotizing and healing Moments to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Lucid Evolution‘s wider discography including Wild Soul and Lucid Dream.
