Setting the tone with cerebral synth textures and vocal add libs that fans of 2Pac would definitely be able to connect with, J.Outlaw opens Fly Patrol with intrigue, dimensionality and a sense of nostalgic futurism.
The opus expands into a timeless hip-hip energy, with atmospheric rap vocals and an intricate, playful and charismatic flow. We appreciate the poetic nuance that J.Outlaw shares, and the authenticity of his delivery.
The rising rapper out of Los Angeles has been “banging down doors” with songs including Large Xtra, Bang On Em, and My Life. Born as Jeromy Du’shane Outlaw, we learn that the star has overcome the statistics of poverty and everyday struggle, and even shares a birthday with Jeezy.
Speaking on his artistry, he comments, “Some people rap just because, I eat sleep and breathe music.” When asked about his past he confesses, “These past years with music has been a long hard road and because of that I am even more motivated to take it ever further.”
If you feel a sense of familiarity with J.Outlaw, you may have seen the emerging talent in the House video with the late Nipsey Hussle with over 20 million views.
