Setting the tone with a polished, classic rock energy with roaring guitar and textured drums, Ruby Nixxons open Set Me on Fire with a fierce and dimensional guitar solo with nods to heavy metal.
The opening lyrics are immediately arresting, as vocalist Dan Briody sings the title of the track, “Set me on fire, yeah you set me on fire, you set me, you set me aflame…”
The opus expands with poetic prowess and metaphorical lyricism, taking us on a journey of a parasitical relationship. “You are the bullet to my head…” sings Dan emotively, drenched in passion. Their intention? “Getting back to what makes rock great”, and Ruby Nixxons does exactly this with Set Me on Fire, and the song’s out of this world guitar solos, high octane energy and a relatable tale of woe.
In 2022, it is rare to find a band that can replicate the timelessness of classic rock, with credibility. The clean mix, fused with the nostalgic chord structures and incredible instrumentation really makes Ruby Nixxons stand out. Quality rock, and we are here to stan.
In addition to Dan on vocals and bass, Ruby Nixxons also features Gordon Chalmers on drums, with Steve Mosley on guitars and additional vocals!
Set Me on Fire comes with a moody and fiery video featuring cosmic geometry to bring to life the message of the song, whilst delivering an immersive visual experience.
We appreciate the classic rock trip that the band has taken us on, and has added the dimensional and intricate composition to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Ruby Nixxons‘ wider discography!
