Setting the tone with an acoustic guitar soundscape, which builds into an Alternative Country energy with strings and percussion, Rodeo FM opens Right Wing Planet with atmospheric vocals, and profound, metaphorical lyricism.
The opus expands with a sense of rawness, and authenticity as Rodeo FM deliver prose full of poetic prowess and depth to bring to life their message. Speaking on the intention of the release, Rodeo FM confess, “It is 2022. The world is still in shambles. Imperialist wars, climate disaster, exploitation, you name it. The line still runs between the rich and poor. Not between countries or other outdated vehicles used to fabricate identities. But few seem to notice. In fact, many seem to embrace it. Because it’s a Right Wing Planet.”
What Rodeo FM are sharing with their artistry is extremely important. We live in a time when greed and oppression are holding us back from peace, and the Berlin-based artists are shining a much needed light to raise awareness of this, so that we can find a solution for the collective. Their philosophy is right, literally, and their message encourages us to unlearn, so that we can create more equality and avert an otherwise impending climate disaster.
Right Wing Planet comes with a cinematic music video which showcases an incredible performance from the foursome, who perform with charisma and authenticity.
Rodeo FM have been playing for nearly 20 years – in dingy cellars and at vernissages, at weddings and funerals, in beer tents and night clubs, at jazz festivals, symposiums and demonstrations. They have been pulling crowds from the South of France to the East of Ukraine and been likened to Americana greats such as Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Whiskeytown, The Band and Tom Petty, although there is no doubt that they are creating a conscious universe of their own.
We learn that the band are releasing an album of the same name in March 2023, until then, we have added Right Wing Planet to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we explore Rodeo FM‘s wider discography including Summer Rain and The Devil and the Riot.
