Setting the tone with an immersive soundscape, Joey Capo opens dive bar with intrigue, a brief narration as he says, “Man, I need a cold one for this…”. A textured riser leads us to a clean vocal with situational and intricate lyricism, as Joey delivers an ode to his favourite drinking establishment.
The opus expands into a contemporary pop-R&B meets futuristic country energy as Joey Capo takes us on a journey filled with poetic prowess and charismatic authenticity, creating a universe where we want to hang out with him!
The hook “Nothing beats a dive bar…” is an earworm, and we appreciate the astral frequencies that accompany Joey’s voice, amplifying his vocal timbre and charm. Joey describes his release as “a lyrical movie from beginning to end”, and we love that cinematic parallel, which works really well with his knack for intimate storytelling.
We learn that the rising artist from Calabasas has been working towards this point in his career for sometime now, and we are glad to see his musical aspirations come to fruition.
Joey Capo is an Italian-Vietnamese singer, songwriter and producer who pours out his heart into his music. His songs project a chill vibe adding his own twist of country R&B. Joey began his songwriting journey at the age of sixteen and by twenty, he started teaching himself how to produce his own records which gradually turned into a full-fledged project.
