Setting the with enigmatic synth bells and immersive textures, MAE M opens Destructive Behaviour with intrigue, dimensionality and atmospheric vocals as she sings, “There’s bodies hidden on my mind and, I guess I’m too afraid to find them, there’s a reason why I hide them, I know eventually I’m gonna have to fight them…”
The opus expands into a moody and conceptual, dark-pop meets electronica-rock vibe, full of charismatic nuance, emotive production and poetic prowess. We appreciate the depth that MAE M shares, as well as her tangible and dynamic emotions which take us on a journey.
MAE M is an independent newcomer from Austria, and we love how her name sounds like “mayhem”, a perfect concept for her soundscape.
Destructive Behaviour comes with an incredible, cinematic music video featuring an out of this world performance from our protagonist. The visual is directed by Niklas Hugo and showcases MAE M in a padded cell, bound by ropes and an epic scene where she is covered in black body paint. We are in awe.
MAE M has a passion for writing infectious tunes and relatable lyrics. Inspired by multiple internationally acclaimed artists such as Billie Eilish, Ashnikko, Stray Kids and PIXY, MAE M’s music journey began at a young age, singing throughout middle school and high school.
Being a musician and storyteller, MAE M is greatly influenced by real life, drawing inspiration for her music from personal experiences and hardships, allowing her listeners to feel and experience her music on an emotional level.
