Setting the tone with atmospheric and charismatic vocals, Nicky Lipp opens ONE OF THESE DAYS with the assertive lyrics, “One of these days, I’m gonna tell you something, something that you can’t deny, by the way that it moves in my life, it’s irresistible…”
The opus expands into a charming and melodic, indie-pop-rock meets Brit pop energy, as Nicky Lipp takes us on an emotive and inspiring journey with poetic nuance and depth. Part-confessional, part-sermon, his lyrics strike a determined tone, and relay the relief of weights lifted and of time passed.
We appreciate the Nicky Lipp‘s delivery, which reminds us a little of iconic bands like Madness. We learn that his sound has already turned heads in his beloved home country of Scotland, and his live shows have been a great success already. The rising artist returns to Glasgow to play King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut in December!
Nicky Lipp confesses to “missing out [on] action for a decade” as he was formerly signed to a major label. His new found independence is proof that life as an artist can be more fruitful when you go it alone.
The star is set to release an EP in 2023, collaborating with Scottish producers including Sam Gelliatry. Speaking on his artistry, Nicky says, “I’m a highly ambitious person. But mainly, I want to enjoy this, and I want this to connect with people. I want it to serve a bigger purpose. Success is something you get to determine – so already I feel like a success because I get to do this again. I want to go on this journey with people.”
We have added ONE OF THESE DAYS to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we anticipate future releases from Nicky Lipp!
