Setting the tone with an immersive synthscape, celestial detailing and bold drums, Calm Attack open This Is Our Time with intrigue and dimensionality.
The opus expands into a luscious, alternative rock energy, as the band from Aberdeenshire deliver poetic prowess, charismatic vocal delivery and intricate sound design full of emotion.
The three-piece band cite Biffy Clyro, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Bush, and Twin Atlantic as influences, although there is no doubt that they are creating a universe of their own.
This Is Our Time comes with a stunning and cinematic music video, directed by Stuart Alexander, featuring members Chris Paterson on vocals and guitar, Rory Jamieson on bass, and Lucas Zawadski on drums delivering an epic performance of the song.
We learn that the band started in 2019 after building a following on Instagram playing alternative rock covers. They have already received radio play form the BBC and Amazing Radio and official Spotify playlists.
Speaking on their live shows, they tell us, “We have played with some other great Scottish bands in the past such as Twin Atlantic, the X certs and The Twilight Sad.”
We appreciate the depth and authenticity that Calm Attack share with their art, and the poetic prowess of their lyricism, combined with their emotive and introspective message.
We have added This Is Our Time to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of Calm Attack, including Demons and Nothing Lasts Forever.
