Establishing the mood with layered guitars and an immersive energy, Roxercat opens Pearls with the altruistic lyrics, “All I ever wanted was for you to be happy, all I ever really wanted was for you to be high…”
We are immediately drawn in by singer and guitarist Price Jones‘ charismatic vocal delivery, and the poetic nuance she shares with her empowering and affirming brand of storytelling. The song embodies Price’s worldview as a simple message that “no matter the current status of relationships with the people who come and go throughout your life, you can still wish them happiness”. She shares the wise words, “Life is about surrounding yourself with people that believe in you – and you in them – and always holding on to your dreams.”
The progressive rock band based in Nashville, Tennessee, also features guitar legend Stan Lassiter, and bassist Bill Francis. We learn that Pearls is Roxercat‘s debut single release from their upcoming EP of the same name, composed and arranged by Price Jones.
The EP was recorded at Sound Emporium Studios with overdubs at Cat Tracks Studio, co-produced by Price Jones and Grammy® award-winning engineer and producer Clarke Schleicher.
The opus comes with a cinematic performance video that showcases the three artists in their element. We appreciate the depth and passion that the trio share with their creation, and it is no surprise that Stan Lassiter is respected so highly, as his performance is simply out of this world!
Pearls has been added to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we await further releases from Roxercat!
