Immersing us with a vibrant and crisp, alternative rock soundscape, The Bellwethers open Fractured with a bold energy, dimensionality and the introspective lyrics, “When will I feel, feel like myself, I’m walking through life, a soul in hell, I live the same, no beginning no end…”
The reflective opus expands with depth and poetic nuance to deliver a thought-provoking message about the human condition. The Bellwethers features Fran Scianna on vocals, guitar and piano, along with Kim Zinevich on vocals and percussion, Bill Stimson on lead guitar, Dan Scianna on bass, and Corey Plueard on drums. The result is a cohesive and anthemic rock song with blues tendencies, and we are obsessed.
We learn that Fractured was recorded as part of the Shizophrenic Zen album with Jamison Weddle of Studiocat Productions. Formed in Phoenix, Arizona in 2010, the band cites The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Janes Addiction as some of their influences, and we can imagine that fans of Hole would also be able to connect, but it it is also clear that the group are creating a universe of their own.
We love the authenticity and energy that The Bellwethers share, and have added Fractured to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream their wider discography including All I See and House of Cards.
