Setting the tone with an immersive vocal texture and synthscape, we are immediately hypnotized by Samantha Gibb‘s latest release, Sorry Not Sorry.
The opus expands with a dimensional bassline and the situational yet introspective lyrics, “You and I speeding down the 95, we were fearless, we were like the perfect crime, a love song, played at the wrong time, young and reckless, only saw in black and white…”
There is no doubt that fans of Lorde, Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey will be able to connect with Samantha Gibb’s songwriting and style, but there is also a unique and futuristic depth of clarity that the rising artist exhibits that sets her apart from her contemporaries.
Speaking on the release of Sorry Not Sorry, Samantha confesses, “It’s about growing up and growing a part from somewhere or someone that might not of been a great influence on you but how ultimately the experience helped you grow. It’s about living with no regrets.”
We appreciate the poetic prowess and dynamic vocals that Samantha Gibb shares with Sorry Not Sorry, as well as her authenticity and vulnerability as a songwriter.
Samantha Gibb was born and raised in Miami Beach, Florida and now lives in Nashville. Her father, legendary Maurice Gibb of the Bee Gees, vastly influenced her life and her music. She has said, “Growing up watching my father and my uncles really set the bar for what kind of musician and songwriter I wanted to be.”
We love the universe that Samantha Gibb is creating with her artistry, and have added Sorry Not Sorry to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream her wider discography including Angel of Mercy, and Morning of My Life.
