Setting the tone with a vibrant and dimensional synthscape, Kelsie Kimberlin opens Cosmopolitan Girl with intrigue and atmospheric vocals as she sings, “When I got to Paris, France, the air is filled with sweet romance…”
The opus expands into a luscious, alternative pop energy as Kelsie Kimberlin takes us on a journey of being an international traveller, and a Cosmopolitan Girl. Following ménage à trois in Paris, Kelsie takes us on a shopping trip to New York, and then onto Rome whilst she professes her love for each respective city and the value that they bring to her reality.
We appreciate the dynamic sonic landscape and the vocal production of the song, which keep us engaged throughout. Speaking on her background and the inspiration of the track, Kelsie Kimberlin confesses, “I am Ukrainian-American and my country is at war with an aggressor nation. I have also traveled throughout the world and I wrote Cosmopolitan Girl to express my pride in being a female who loves all cultures.”
Cosmopolitan Girl comes with a cinematic music video featuring footage of the rising artist in a dozen cities including appearances in Paris, New York, Kyiv, Seoul, Cairo, Tokyo, London, Shanghai, and Dubai. We love Kelsie Kimberlin magnetic performance in the visual, and the cinematography is straight out of a blockbuster film! Kelsie goes international to unite the world, and prove that the concept of home resides wherever we are.
We learn that the song was also mixed by multi-Grammy nominee Brent Kolatola, and mastered by Grammy winners Greg Calbi and Steve Fallone, and there is no expense spared on the production of the release!
We appreciate the depth and authentic message that Kelsie Kimberlin shares with her artistry, and have added Cosmopolitan Girl to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream her wider discography including What We Had, and Right Place Wrong Time.
