Setting the tone with a dimensional bass line and percussion intricacies, before expanding with electric guitar, The Levy Circus open Changes with the thought-provoking lyrics, “I don’t know if I’m wrong or if I’m right, I can’t say if I’m even gonna last for tonight, but I know I need to make a change somehow and I know I’ve got to stake my claim right now…”
The opus evolves into an Americana meets indie-folk hybrid energy as the band deliver a meaningful song full of poetic prowess, profound lyricism and a self-realized message.
Changes is the debut single from The Levy Circus who tell us, “This has been a lifetime of dreaming to get to this point.” Comprised of seasoned musicians from the East Midlands in the United Kingdom, the band members have all had success in the past, and following a signing with Marquee Records, they are ready to expand their sound and perspective!
We learn that a force of public demand from the live circuit, pushed this track to be the band’s debut single release. Changes depicts the tale of “being in a restless state and recognising the need for transformation”. The band tell us that it is a semi-biographical story from The Levy Circus‘ front man, Miles Levy, alongside writing partner, Graham Jones.
Fans of Van Morrison and Paul Weller will definitely be able to connect with Changes, although there is no denying that The Levy Circus are creating a unique sound of their own.
In addition to charismatic vocalist Miles Levy and guitarist Graham Jones, the band also features Eddie Giacobbe on bass, Oscar Muto on keyboards, and Ammar Al-Chalabi on drums.
We appreciate the depth and authenticity that The Levy Circus share with their artistry and have added Changes to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we anticipate further releases from the band!
