Setting the tone with a rippling bell and a progressive soundscape, Jameson Tabor opens Touch with crisp vocals, fused with a vibrant yet elastic energy with intricate and narrative-driven percussion details.
The opus expands into a contemporary hook, as the Los Angeles native artist sings romantically, “I feel it in my body, I feel it in my chest, you’re really what I wanted, but lately I’m obsessed…”
We appreciate the dimensional sonic landscape that Jameson Tabor has crated with Touch. The mix is pristine, and we are in awe of Jameson’s vocal range and charismatic delivery. We learn that Touch is co-written by Jenna Tabor and Molly Chapman, and that Jameson is indeed creating a genre of his own, dubbed “nu-disco”.
Jameson’s brand of storytelling is unique and compelling, as he shares his emotions on the charming and flirtatious track documenting young love. Speaking on story of Touch, Jameson tells us, “I fell in love at first sight, and after weeks of dreaming about the girl, I finally connected with her at a party where we got dared to kiss! Now, I am married to her, AND we actually wrote this song together! She is the muse behind the music, and has inspired my evolution in style and artistry to be what it is today.”
There is no doubt that Jameson Tabor is demonstrating his poetic prowess with Touch, and the authenticity of the backstory really allows us to connect with the artist on a deeper level. Fans of Nick Jonas, Years and Years, Bruno Mars and Michael Jackson will definitely be able to vibe with Touch, although it is clear that Jameson is creating a universe of his own.
The track was recorded at JamTab Music in Santa Monica, and features Jake Chapman on vibraphone and glockenspiel, and Philip Chuah on bass.
Located in Los Angeles, Jameson’s soulful voice and playful personality showcase an updated, sensitive version of masculinity. His first music video for Pull Me In won an award at the Eurasia International Film Festival, and Black Dust won at the Global Music Awards in 2020, making statements on diversity and inclusion. A self-made artist, Jameson has written and recorded with several Grammy award-winning producers and songwriters.
We love the energy that Jameson Tabor is sharing and his refined creative output. We have added Touch to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream his wider discography including the House Remix of All These Tears.
