We recently featured Ranski Gleechie for his empowering single, Proud Of It, but we wanted to also shine a spotlight on the unique artist’s release from earlier this year, PakMan.
Immersing us with dark celestial bells fused with panning add libs, Ranski Gleechie opens PakMan with dimensionality and a sense of self-reflection.
The newly liberated artist is back and more emboldened for success than ever before. PakMan holds a metaphorical energy, paralleling the game of life, and is a melodic rap song and “anthem about finding the neighbourhood pot dealer”, who is also known as “PakMan“.
We appreciate the adventure that Ranski Gleechie takes us on as he comments that the police are trying to find him, but everybody loves him. His affirming lyrics ring true and were also featured in Proud Of It.
The pulsating bass is fierce as high hats draw us in deeper and the Canadian super star sings about his reality and the human condition. A lyrical highlight is, “Baby take your shoes off, this is not a trap house…” as the artist cements his new and conscious universe.
The vocal design goes from crisp to atmospheric, showing how dynamic Ranski Gleechie can be, and the opus, which comes in at less than two minutes, has us reaching for the repeat button.
The rising artist from Toronto tells us that PakMan has “a chill, laid back tone with auto tune [and] a deep engaging voice”. We couldn’t help but notice the cheeky Gucci Mane reference from My Kitchen in the verse too!
Ranski Gleechie is a visionary artist who has gone through a lot of turmoil to get him to this point of creating timeless rap songs that deserve to be heard. His message is clear and profound and his flow is intricate and laced with poetic nuance.
We have added PakMan to our New Music Spotlight playlist, along with Proud Of It and we have also been streaming Ranski Gleechie‘s latest release, BandCamp!
