Setting the tone with immersive textures, guitar details and rising vocal add libs, Pierre Kakiz opens Venus Meets Virgo with intrigue, dimensionality and the affirming yet introspective lyrics “I am selfless, I am pure, ultra critical, yet insecure…”
The opus expands into a conscious and thought-provoking energy as Pierre Kakiz confesses, “I am on a quest to perfect myself…”, with a luscious and soulful alternative R&B soundscape produced by XVR BLCK.
We are in awe of Pierre’s vocal performance, range and the poetic prowess with which he writes. Speaking on his art and creative process, Pierre says, “My passion for astrology made me want to write this song. I would like to dedicate it to anyone who has their Venus in the sign of Virgo and/or any Virgo placements in their astrological chart.”
He adds with wisdom, “This is such a personal and vulnerable song to me and I have lost count of the amount of tears I have shed while listening back to it.”
Elaborating on his intention, Pierre comments, “I wrote it in hopes of educating the world on what it is like to become romantically involved with a [Venus in] Virgo. I’m hoping it can act as a safe haven for Virgos if they ever feel misunderstood or all alone.”
We appreciate the depth of Pierre Kakiz‘s message, and how he is sharing his aligned and cosmic reality with the world. Lyrical highlights which summarise the energy of someone with Venus in Virgo include, “My loyalty can′t be compared, unparalleled but still I’m scared…”, and “My language of love is to serve…”
As far as influences go, Pierre Kakiz simply cites R&B as his inspiration, although we did notice a Michael Jackson tribute on his social media and can’t help but feel some influence of Kanye West’s The Life Of Pablo album in his delivery.
We have added Venus Meets Virgo to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we stream Pierre Kakiz‘s wider discography including Let Me Be and Jewel.
