Setting the tone with a guitar riff crescendo before exploding into a luscious alternative rock soundscape, Patient Lounge open Hard Truth with dimensionality, subversion and conceptual lyricism.
The opus expands with a thought-provoking and inspiring message to persevere with our passions. Vocalist Zach Eather confesses “We have too many friends who have given up on their dreams early and work jobs they hate.”
He adds with intention, “This song is telling our inner child not to give up and not to follow in the footsteps of our mates that are miserable five days a week.”
The outfit from Brisbane recently performed the song at The QUBE Effect, which you can view below! We are in awe of their poetic prowess, and the raw authenticity they share both on the record and live!
Patient Lounge already has an impressive resume, supporting internationally acclaimed acts Haken (UK), Pop Evil (USA) and Australian rock heavyweights Wolfmother. The boys also squeezed in Dead of Winter Festival, showcasing at BIGSOUND 2020, multiple interstate tours and kicked 2021 in the teeth by finishing off last year with headline shows as part of Brisbane’s epic Valley Fiesta and a sold-out single launch at Tomcat.
Fans of Tool, Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam will definitely be able to connect with Patient Lounge‘s fierce soundscape, although there is no doubt that they are creating a universe of their own.
We have added Hard Truth to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Patient Lounge‘s wider discography including BEGDA and All You Want.
