We recently featured Monroe Moon for their inspiring ode to manifest freedom, WAR and their immersive and cinematic single, New Utopia, so we were excited to hear their latest release, Glad To Exist.
Drawing us in with luscious vocal textures fused with an immersive, dimensional synthscape and textured drums, Monroe Moon open Glad To Exist with intrigue, add libs and the romantic lyrics, “You exist for me, I exist for you, and I can say to you ‘what good service’…”
We already love the direction that Glad To Exist is taking, and the warm and connected message of the opus. Glad To Exist features the dream-pop meets indie-hybrid sonic landscape that we have come to love from Monroe Moon, and the lyricism and authenticity of the piece is captivating, with gratitude as its core message.
The conscious duo, comprised of Bunny Monroe and Theo Malkin, are a couple, and this ode to love and service to each other is a refreshing celebration of authentic love energy.
Speaking on the composition, Bunny confesses with poetic prowess, “Glad To Exist was the song that going around my head after a meditation turned dream. I was practicing a visual meditation where I was walking down a busy city street and upon passing an individual I would look at their face and repeat to myself ‘I am you. You are me. I love you.'”
She adds with depth, “Sometime into this mediation I fell into a dream, and fell into a void in the street I was walking, into the dark ocean where I fell down until I came up the other side inside a half submerged giant lotus. When I woke up I wrote the song that was waiting for me.”
We appreciate how Bunny and Theo have channelled the universe into creating Glad To Exist, which we hope is a relatable song for people in love around the world. Speaking on her intention and connection with oneness, Bunny says, “[We’re] just trying to catch the music that is pouring down from the aether into something potable.”
Glad To Exist was recorded at Virtue & Vice Studios in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York with Alex Almgren of Freshly Baked Studios, and the duo tell us, “We are just working on keeping the music coming. We have a new release scheduled for every month for the the next six months, at least…”
We cannot wait to hear more from Monroe Moon, and in the meantime, we have added Glad To Exist to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream their wider discography.
