Setting the tone with a vibrant and melodic indie-pop meets alt-rock hybrid soundscape with glistening guitar and pulsating drums, Moonroof open Maybe Crazy with the introspective and situational lyrics, “Sleep around, but I’m hanging with the crazies, oh no but I think about you lately, can’t stop with the feelings don’t hate me, all these thoughts of you I’m just chasing…”
The opus expands with poetic nuance and and immersive energy to deliver the story of a complicated relationship as Moonroof sing the emotive plea for salvation and peace, “For once can someone just save me, just stop with the lies and the maybes…”
We appreciate the depth and authenticity with which Moonroof perform and the refined and intricate nature of their collective performance on the record. Lyrically, Maybe Crazy is relatable and reflective, filled with references to the complexed nature of the human condition and love, including the lyric, “I try to walk away but I’m turning back around.”
Moonroof is a Philadelphia-based band who have been making waves in the indie-pop scene since their 2018 debut. With over 4 million streams on Spotify alone, Moonroof has also shared the stage with Indie heavyweights The Lumineers, Death Cab for Cutie and Grouplove, although it is clear that they are creating a universe of their own.
The band consists of lead singer Dave Kim, drummer Dan Rendine, guitarist Francis Convery, and bassist Kevin Randolph. To no surprise, the band’s music has been played on Philadelphia-area radio stations Alt 104.5 and WXPN and they have a very strong social media following with a super engaged fan-base!
We love Moonroof‘s sound and have added Maybe Crazy to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream their wider discography including Honey Honey and Chocolate!
