Setting the tone with a bold synth melody and the impactful spoken words, “Real men, don’t insult and threaten women, they don’t slut shame them, and they don’t attack them and make them feel bullied in their work place, you are not fit to call yourselves men…”, Zaryah opens her single, SOCIETY OF MEN with a message of inclusivity.
Expanding with atmospheric vocals and an anthemic pop soundscape, Zaryah confesses that SOCIETY OF MEN “embraces honoring and celebrating parts of women that have been shamed by a patriarchal society for far too long.”
We appreciate Zaryah‘s charismatic delivery and poetic nuance, as she shares her message with the intention of manifesting a more balanced reality.
It is no surprise that Zaryah has already amassed over 7 million streams from songs she’s released thus far. The emotive break down and dimensionality of SOCIETY OF MEN is out of this world, and we appreciate the empowering and self-realized nature of the opus, as Zaryah sings the assertive hook, “I don’t want to live in a SOCIETY OF MEN…”
Speaking on her artistry, Zaryah says, “I’ve never been afraid to speak my mind on topics that should be talked about more. Doing so by turning my statements into music has allowed me to not only empower myself but also make other women feel understood in our struggles as we go through living in a society that is mostly ruled by men.”
We learn that from the day she could physically write, Zaryah was scribbling notebooks full of feelings and fantasies that later on turned into songs. The idea of creating an alternate universe through art lured her deeper into expressing herself – immersing herself into fashion, dance, singing, burlesque and theatere at a very young age.
Deeply inspired by classic Hollywood icons such as Audrey Hepburn & the French Burlesque scene, Zaryah always had the unfulfilled urge to perform on big stages. The fearless singer took the next leap of her career in the beginning of 2019 by moving to Los Angeles where she currently resides. Music being her therapeutic space, Zaryah aims to create songs and live performances that allow the audience to completely escape reality and enter into an exhilarating daydream where everybody can be unapologetically themselves.
We love Zaryah‘s sound and message and have added SOCIETY OF MEN to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream her wider discography including deep dive and ROOM 112.
