Setting the tone with a dynamic and cerebral beat, fused with intricate detailing and laser sounds, The Fair Attempts opens My Frozen Heart with intrigue, dimensionality and the provocative lyrics, “Yeah, you’re the good guy, you’re the one who’s right, and all we have is your might against mine…”
My Frozen Heart expands into a pulsating and high octane industrial rock energy, and we are obsessed. Filled with poetic nuance, lyrical highlights include the self-realized, “I’m the reason why the war rages on, come read my thoughts…” and the existential hook “Deep in our frozen hearts, we live and die, in a stereo lie…”
The opus examines themes of the human condition, a subversive reality and as The Fair Attempts, also known as artist Friendly Timo confesses, “the future society we are unwittingly constructing around ourselves”.
We appreciate the depth of My Frozen Heart, and how much passion and wisdom The Fair Attempts delivers with his artistry. Additional vocals on the opus are provided by Starwing, and we are fully mesmerized by the mid-way breakdown, where the once heavy opus strips down to a minimalist electronic soundscape as we are literally transported to another dimension.
It is no surprise that people call The Fair Attempts the “Black Mirror of Industrial Rock”. We learn that each song reveals more of the dystopian world first imagined by the artist and mastermind, Friendly Timo. It makes us want to dance, think and EXPAND.
Friendly Timo confesses and elaborates, “I got inspired by the state of the world after all of this COVID panic. The world around us seems to be teeming with all kinds of conflicts and crises that potentially continue to create even more conflicts. In the dystopian story of The Fair Attempts, mankind finds itself in a state of the world brought on by constant conflict. I wanted to depict a state of soul and mind of a person in the middle of it all. Some of us live in a constant state of conflict even within ourselves.”
We have added My Frozen Heart to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of The Fair Attempts including there Chemical Warfare Remix of Blowback!
