The opus expands with a luscious guitar melody and pulsing drums, into an evocative soft-rock meets alternative-pop energy as jon penny reminisces with poetic nuance and a charismatic delivery.
Speaking on the creative process of Still Smilin’, jon penny confesses, “I wrote this song in about half a day. It was influenced by an old picture I had from when I was a kid. The picture, [which is] the artwork for the single, became the main focus point for the lyrics and theme.”
The rising artist from the United Kingdom adds with intention, “I hope this song connects to people by showing that our problems don’t define us, they just make us human.”

Still Smilin’ with a music video featuring archive footage of the artist, shot by T.J Penny and edited by jon himself. After leaving band life in London to pursue music on his own, jon penny found himself living by the quiet forests of Wales in a converted watermill.
Having the headspace to discover his own sound, jon has slowly worked on song writing and production skills, which come through exquisitely on his debut. jon cites lyricists such as Leonard Cohen and Kendrick Lamar as influences, although it is clear that jon penny is creating a universe of his own.
