Setting the tone with a rippling beat, dimensional bass-line and the lyrics, “She makes my temperature rise, she makes me want suicide, I cry whenever she’s twisted….”, Cabus opens his latest single, how does it feel? with intrigue and a profound nature.
Speaking on the creative process and meaning of the opus, Cabus confesses, “I wrote this song on my guitar on my apartment floor.”
The rising artist from Dallas adds, “It’s a song about a person whom I now refer to as a glorified rebound. It’s about realizing this person and I weren’t good for each other, and wanting them anyway.”
Cabus continues, “That same night, I played the song for my producers at the studio. After I played them the song, they smiled and said ‘we gotta to record this song tonight!’. They added things that helped capture the sensory experience of going through the ups and downs of a toxic relationship.”
We learn that how does it feel? is from Cabus‘ upcoming debut EP, PSYCO, which drops this week! We appreciate the poetic nuance of how does it feel? and the depth and charisma that Cabus perform with, as well as the design of the track, jam packed with intricacies that add vibrancy and dimensionality to the track.
The instrumental segment is out of this world, full of awesome cosmic detailing that takes us on an a cyber meets transcendental journey. We love Cabus‘ vocal range, and how he communicates his message with charm.
