Vibrant and passionate acoustic guitar opens the single, and we are already intrigued by the energy of Grace. Fused with luscious strings, Chucky Trading Co paint a picture with the situational lyrics, “I hear the church bell toll, the breeze riffles though your hair, my thoughts are miles away, lost in the bleached Spanish glare…”
We love the poetic nuance that Chucky Trading Co create with, and the Spanish guitar soundscape is out of this world. We appreciate the glistening details and bright bells which dimensionalize the piece.
The choral harmonies during the chorus amplify the energy in this beautiful ode to love. The narrative is romantic and charming, although nuanced with darker themes as Chucky Trading Co sing, “Grace I know your pain, you lovе me just the same, I’m to blamе, I’m to blame and Grace I know your pain…”
Chucky Trading Co is made up of artist CS Taber and producer Everett Young, exploring each of their backgrounds a little further, we learn that both members have a unique story, which lends to the depth of their collective artistry.
CS Taber was blessed with a childhood immersed in the spirits and rhythms of Central and West Africa, and his coming of age was rooted in the rich acoustic traditions of Appalachia. He plays to a broad tapestry of musical textures. CS Taber‘s songs combine the deceptive simplicity of folk, rock, and pop styles with the emotional depth and power of counterculture poets from the 60s to the present. With his songs, Taber sketches stories and images on themes both traditional and modern.
Everett Young is a modern composer from Tallahassee, Florida. Whether a film calls for modern minimalism that stays out of the way of the action, or classic themes and melodies like the most memorable scores of cinema history, he lives to create great music that sets the right moods and gives films big emotions. Everett has scored documentaries, animated features, and independent feature films.
We appreciate the energy that both creators bring to the project, and Grace‘s sonic landscape really fits the expansive sets of experience from both CS Taber and Everett Young.
