Setting the tone with a frequency crescendo and synthetic drop, Sasha Atlas opens her debut single WALLS, with the situational and thought-provoking lyrics, “Did you watch the news last night, they said we’re shutting down again, they said no-one should be on the streets past ten, we should turn off the lights…”
WALLS expands into a dark, contemporary pop soundscape with luscious and immersive production, as Sasha Atlas takes us on a narrative based journey documenting the collective tensions and emotions of the last few years.
As the opus expands, we experience a more genre expansive nature from the artist, with influences of alt-pop and alt-rock, along with hints of metal and EDM. The instrumental break down is out of this world! We appreciate Sasha Atlas‘ powerful vocals and poetic nuance, as she tells a familiar story of “powerlessness and loss over the years spent watching global unrest from inside walls, physical and otherwise.”
Sasha Atlas is a recording artist from New York City. A musician, writer, and financier, who by the age of 24 was managing over $15 billion dollars in assets, whilst composing on the side.
Her broad experience has allowed Sasha to collect stories that have shaped a holistic world view, delivering profound and emotive songs such as WALLS. The track was co-written with and produced by Dean Korso, a recent inductee to The Recording Academy and well known music producer, who has worked side by side with some of the greatest names in the recording business: Jimmy Douglass, Tim Palmer, Mark Needham, AU5, Chris Gehringer, Jay Messina, KSHMR.
We love the cathartic nature of her debut, which is relatable, deep and emotive. Sasha Atlas‘ authenticity shines through in the opus, and her wisdom is tangible as she shares her emotions and lyrical prowess. We have added WALLS to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we anticipate further releases from the rising star.
