Setting the tone with immersive guitar and textured vocals, Clare Easdown opens her new single, Your Eyes Are Ice, with intrigue and drama.
The opus expands with cosmic detailing and a bold trip hop drum pattern with intricate high hats, as Clare sings with charisma and poetic nuance. Speaking on the meaning of Your Eyes Are Ice, Clare confesses, “This song is about pure lust, deep attraction and the inevitable power of desire. It as if the one’s eyes are solidified water with the power of an illicit drug.”
We appreciate the soundscape that Clare has created and the grunge guitar which flows enigmatically though the composition. Clare’s vocals remind us of Grimes in places, although it is clear that the alternative, indie artist from Sydney, Australia, is creating a universe of her own.
Clare Easdown is a multi-disciplinary artist who believes in the power of self expression through music. She hopes to show that if she can produce music, anyone can and should. Clare started classical cello art a very young age and has now moved into music production.
The rising artist cites CHVRCHES, Massive Attack, Porishead, Madonna and Nirvana as some of her influences, which we can feel come through in Your Eyes Are Ice, although it is clear that Clare is manifesting a dimension of her own.
She leaves us with the powerful quote, “Music is a love language that shoots through the hearts of all.” We have added Your Eyes Are Ice to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Clare Easdown‘s wider discography including War In Our Minds and Closing The Door.
