We recently featured Amy Correa Bell for her vulnerable, vibrant and polished single, Anyways, so we were excited to hear that she had just released the brand new, Run It.
Establishing the mood with a luscious synthscape and vocal riser, Amy Correa Bell opens her latest single, Run It, with the lyrics, “I wanna go outside, I’m alive, told you I’d never forget it, promise you I won’t regret it…”
Expanding into an electronic, alternative pop soundscape, we are hypnotized by Amy Correa Bell‘s atmospheric and intricate vocal production, and the overall dynamic nature of the soundscape.
Run It was produced by Les Correa (aka Les Les), and we learn that it tells a story of “overcoming in the midst of struggle, calling forth memories of ancestors and what they went through to provide the opportunities today.”
The introspective opus is empowering and thought-provoking, and we are grateful for the authenticity that Amy Correa Bell shares with her artistry.
Amy tells us that “Run It is an anthem for those overcoming, calling out the survivor in each of us.” We love this message. The composition takes us on a personal journey through Amy’s connections with her mother and grandmother’s struggles before her mother came to America.
Speaking on the creative process of the track, producer Les Correa says, “We first captured some freestyles with made-up words, and then deciphered the lyrics beneath those words during our first session.”
We have added Run It to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Amy Correa Bell‘s wider discography including Supreme and Blessings.
